Case Study

Unicef at 75

Project Overview

For its milestone75th anniversary commemoration and national fundraiser, UNICEF USA entrusted us with crafting a considerable and compelling visual anthology. An ambitious initiative that simultaneously took place in-person across ten cities as well as virtually, UNICEF at 75 required a distinct, cohesive identity that reflected the gala’s grand cinematic scale and, most importantly, the organization’s tireless commitment to improving the lives of children around the world.

To mark this monumental event, we began by building an exclusive emblem that referenced the familiar UNICEF branding and the evening’s film-focused theme. Light rays and bold letterforms that alluded to the celebratory show in store for supporters informed the accompanying skyline-inspired insignia we designed for each host city. Together, this collection of crests and badges highlighted not only the scope and significance of the campaign, but also UNICEF’s enduring impact.

Taking the visual hallmarks introduced in the logos, we designed a save the date trifold that merged the city mono(sky)lines into one epic panorama, further emphasizing the extent of the event.

The print materials we produced for the UNICEF at 75 celebration exemplify the careful consideration that defines our creative process. The invitation needed to be cohesive yet wholly distinctive, so we explored several potential pathways in pen sketches before proceeding to digital renderings. The final product – a stunning firework-filled, gold foil-stamped UNICEF theatre that illuminated mailboxes across the country. Complete with a logo marquee and a shine that reflected the wave of a searchlight, this full-of-motion picture was the perfect promo.

The digital assets we designed and developed for this nationwide initiative lived alongside the print materials as a central resource for supporters. More than a continuation of the visual identity, the well-organized website housed the most up-to-date info for each in-person party, facilitated an easy ticket-buying and donation experience and credited the many event leaders and sponsors. In a graphic grand finale, a spectacular display of animations told guests to expect fireworks at this fundraiser.
