Our Major Moments
Founder Cheree Berry’s childhood fascination with stationery foretold the creation of a company known for its paper keepsakes. With storytelling as its guiding tenet, the business has grown into a multifaceted, award-winning design firm, delivering unforgettable visual solutions across all mediums and making milestone memories along the way…
The company opens its (apartment) doors! Founded on her expertise and love of paper, Cheree establishes Cheree Berry Paper & Design! In her first year Cheree’s love of paper and people unite as she works with 15 couples, (four of whom invite Cheree) to share in their special days.
Change of address cards needed! Our headquarters moves from Cheree’s apartment to a quaint 300-square-foot office space in St. Louis’s charming Central West End neighborhood.
CBP ON TV
Today taps Cheree to design the invitation suite for “Today Throws a Martha Stewart Wedding.” Cheree’s set for Jessica and Cody shines and sits on display in Tiffany’s iconic window on Fifth Avenue. This invite remains a best seller from our wedding collection to this day.
Martha Stewart features Cheree’s own wedding! Eight pages to be exact! But who’s counting?
And Kristen Armstrong joins Cheree as her business partner after earning her MBA from Harvard (and a husband from Saint Louis)!
A WHITE HOUSE WEDDING
Chelsea Clinton chooses Cheree Berry Paper and Design as the exclusive stationer for her New York nuptials to Marc Mezvinsky.
Because LOVE IS LOVE, we toast to the grooms! The team crafts a wedding invitation for its first same-sex couple, Chris and Tim. Also, a feature in Martha Stewart weddings!
We pair up with non-profits, creating one of our first charity gala invitations on record for Boston’s Camp Harbor View. CHV’s annual bash brings about a near decades-long collaboration with premier planner Rafanelli Events.
LOOK OF LOVE
The Wedding Collection debuts, introducing us to thousands of couples on their way to say, “I do.”
Also, check out the monogram on the front door of Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s and Justin Mikita’s home. Our work transcends letterpress invites and etches memories in wood!.
Cheree takes a seat on the board of the St. Louis Fashion Fund, helping to revitalize the city’s fashion industry with branding and style guidelines.
Our work is in the White House! Every holiday season reminds us of our 56 state-and-territory-inspired custom snowflakes that hung, first, in the East Colonnade and, later, on the tree in the Oval Office.
We had the opportunity to craft a capsule collection of cards for Target, bringing our thoughtful designs to the masses!
We also dive into the digital arena, joining forces with electronic invitation powerhouse Paperless Post.
We meet Maisonette! This wonderful partnership positions our products with parents—our Back to School flags, created to commemorate the first day of the school year, fly off the shelves.
Plus, our skilled squad of designers wins Best in Show at the 22nd AIGA St. Louis Design Show.
St. Louis Children’s Hospital selects us as the exclusive designer for its annual fundraising events. #feelgoodwork
By this time, more and more of our business is in the non-profit category.
RBG (& CBP)
To top off a great growth year, we unite with Planned Parenthood to honor Justice RBG with a stationery set that really rules. Proceeds of the stationery give back to PP.
P.S. The team expands across the country, hiring sales and account management roles in NYC and Miami to cater to our clients close to the coast.
IN THE PRESS
The year starts with a double-page spread in Martha Stewart Weddings’ annual issue! The fantastic feature marks our tenth appearance in the legendary publication—each time is always an honor, and we still get all the feels when we flip those glossy pages and find our work!
Soon afterward, the events world shuts down, but we push forward, pivot to virtual events and record the strongest holiday season to date, delivering hope-filled cards to doors during a dark time.
As the company has grown, so has our team! Expert designers, illustrators, copywriters, craftworkers and project managers collaborate daily to visually communicate clients’ stories in remarkable ways. Get to know them a little better!
Not to be confused with CherryBerry or Shari’s Berries, CEO and creative director Cheree Berry (shŭ-rē) (ber-ē) is one-of-a-kind in name and visual storytelling know-how. In her distinctive way Cheree couples cleverness and creativity to celebrate the uniqueness of her clients.
